A one-man web design show
Hey, I’m Bert Baez, a CT web designer, music lover, and founder of Crowd Surf Media. I’ve been building websites for over a decade, helping small businesses bring their vision to life online. Through my other studio, Pixel Pros Design, I’ve worked with clients across Connecticut and beyond on custom WordPress sites, branding, and digital strategy. But Crowd Surf Media is where I let loose and have some fun.
The name comes from my love of live shows and rock music—there’s nothing like the energy of a crowd, the connection, and the shared experience. That same feeling is what I aim to create through design: something that grabs attention, pulls people in, and leaves a lasting impression.
You’ll notice LEGO characters pop up throughout Crowd Surf Media—that’s not just for laughs (though I do love a bit of humor). To me, LEGO is the perfect metaphor for how I approach web design: every project starts with a pile of pieces, and it’s all about building something great from the ground up. It’s also a nod to staying playful, curious, and creative (no matter how serious the project).
When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me at a concert, crowd surfing to my favorite band, or spinning vinyl in the studio.
My Design Process
Building a website with me is kind of like starting a band. We kick things off with good vibes, make a plan, jam out the web design, and get ready to rock the launch. It’s a creative, collaborative process that’s fun, low-stress, and all about making something awesome together.
Discover
I kick things off with a casual conversation to learn about your business, who you're trying to reach, and what success looks like for you. I’ll talk about your style, your competitors, and any specific features you’re looking for. This is where I gather the ideas and inspiration that will guide the entire project. Don’t worry if you don’t have all the answers—I’ll help you figure out what matters most.
Plan
Based on what I learned, I’ll start designing the structure and style of your site. This includes layout mockups, homepage concepts, and key page designs. You’ll get to review the designs, ask questions, and request changes. I collaborate closely with you to make sure everything feels right before we touch a line of code. Our goal is to capture your brand in a clean, modern layout that works across all screen sizes.
Design & Build
Once the design is approved, I turn it into a fully functional WordPress site. I set up pages, load content, install plugins, and make everything run smoothly behind the scenes. Then I test the site on multiple browsers, devices, and screen sizes to make sure it looks great and works perfectly for everyone who visits. From load speed to responsive behavior, I double-check all the details.
Launch & PARTY
When everything’s ready, we launch your new site and make it live on your domain. But we don’t just hand it off and disappear—we walk you through the dashboard, show you how to update your content, and give you a quick training session so you’re confident managing your site. Need extra help? We offer monthly support plans, so you’re never on your own.
